Antigua Day 7

Antigua Day 7 - 07/08/09

Today we started the day with some more docking practice and then made our way to deep bay where we learnt how to pick up a mooring using the engine.

We were going to go for a swim but found that the bay was filled with hundreds and hundreds of huge blue jellyfish. Instead we sun bathed, read our books for a little while and ate lunch.

After lunch we began a long but fun journey round Antigua to Bird Island, a completely uninhabited and untouched tropical paradise.

When we arrived at Bird Island we learned to drop anchor and immediately gathered our snorkeling gear for a bit of fish spotting. Logan drove us from the yacht to the beach where we explored the lower part of the island, cleaned the bbq ready for dinner and did some more snorkeling over the reefs.

Back at the yacht we quickly showered using the hose at the stern and gathered together food for the barbeque. We headed back to the beach where the bbq was lit and the food was cooked.
